How to Edit Multiple WordPress Posts at Once

WordPress allows you to edit multiple posts at one time, but the things it allows you to edit once you select that option are limited, as some actions are best left to be done one at a time and saved individually. But there are a few cases where it makes sense to edit posts in bulk. Here’s how to do it:

  1. On the Posts page, select the posts you’d like to edit, then navigate to the “Bulk actions” dropdown menu.

  2. If you’d like to delete the selected posts, click “Move to Trash” and then “Apply.” If you’d like to edit the categories, author or something else, select “Edit” and then click “Apply.”

  3. On the bulk edit screen, WordPress allows you to edit the Categories, Tags and Author. It also lets you decide whether or not you’d like to allow comments and pings (we don’t recommend this). You can also change the status (published, draft, etc.) of a post and make it stick to the top of your blog.

  4. Once you’ve completed your edits, select “Update.”
