Over the past 30 years, Infomedia has watched many new technologies come and go, but none have posed quite the same challenges and benefits as Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Despite all the excitement about AI today, it’s not a brand-new discovery. It’s actually the result of many years of quiet development behind the scenes. There have been earlier forms of AI that you might not even recognize as AI, like the search engines we use every day, the spam filters in our email or even the autocorrect on our phones. While these tools seem simple by today’s standards, they laid the groundwork for Large Language Models (LLM) like ChatGPT. 

Our Approach to AI: A Balanced Integration

It would be a mistake to dismiss AI’s capabilities and say we’ll never use it in any application. But seeing it as a replacement for our team would be just as misguided. At Infomedia, we believe that AI is here to complement, not replace, the human expertise and creativity that have driven our success for the past 30 years.

How We Use AI

  • Enhanced Efficiency: AI can help us make everything run smoother. We may use it to provide first drafts, suggest new ideas or organize information. This kind of support means we can get more done — faster and better.
  • Creative Assistance: AI can function as a tool for brainstorming and polishing ideas. It can help speed up the creative process and refine user interfaces. But only our team of creative experts can make sure the content we produce aligns with our clients’ goals.
  • Troubleshooting: AI supports our team by offering possible solutions and automating routine tasks, like testing code or generating transcripts. But when it comes to the really tricky or important stuff, our team steps in to make sure everything’s just right.

How We Don’t Use AI

  • Wholly AI-Generated Content: We do not rely on AI to produce content in its entirety unless specifically requested by the client. While AI can come up with ideas and first drafts, we work with experienced, talented artists. Our goal is to serve our clients the best way we know how to while honoring the artist relationships we hope to maintain.
  • Legal Documents: AI may get the ball rolling on legal or compliance materials, but the final documents are always created by qualified professionals. AI can make mistakes, and this is not an area where we are willing to risk it.
  • Final Quality Assurance: AI is handy for initial checks and tests, but our experts are the ones who give everything the final seal of approval. This way, we know our work is top-notch and error-free.
  • Confidential and Sensitive Information Handling: We take security seriously at Infomedia, which extends to our use of AI. We use AI with caution, especially when involving private or sensitive information. There is always a human keeping an eye on things to keep everyone’s data safe and secure.

About Anna
