Built for real people with real needs
Central Alabama Water (formerly Birmingham Water Works) had outgrown its old website. Information was difficult to find, pages were poorly organized and customers often had no option but to call for help. We rebuilt the site from the ground up with usability in mind, reorganizing content so essential tools like reporting issues, reviewing pricing and accessing FAQs were easy to locate. The new structure gives customers clearer pathways to answers — reducing friction, saving time and improving the overall service experience.
Flexible, reliable and ready for change
During the project, Central Alabama Water underwent a name and logo change, along with a domain change. This required careful coordination behind the scenes. We ensured a seamless transition by preserving access to billing, critical links and customer resources through proper redirects and technical planning. The new site also provides a centralized hub for project updates, including ongoing initiatives like the Purdy Dam, and a dedicated space for local media to access verified information and video assets. Throughout the process, the client kept their customers front and center — and the finished site reflects that commitment with a modern platform built to evolve alongside the community it serves.
