What is Canva?

Canva is a platform that you can use to create graphics, resumes, flyers and other marketing materials. At Infomedia, we use Canva often for our social media graphics, as well as promoting the podcast and our blog.

When we create graphics, we usually start by searching for a template — there are tons of options for podcasts, blogs, promotions and everything in between. You can also search for elements and shapes and upload photos into your design, similarly to ClipArt.

Canva also gives you the ability to adjust each graphic to your branding guidelines. You can upload your logo, brand colors and brand fonts using Canva’s brand kit feature. It’s also really easy to copy and paste in Canva — you can even paste into multiple designs!

Canva makes it easy to create graphics for different purposes. For example, you’ll need different dimensions for your Instagram feed and story posts. Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn also have specific dimensions. When you create a design in Canva, you can choose from pre-measured templates, or you can design using custom dimensions for whatever your graphic requires.

Even if you’re not a designer, Canva makes it easy to create unique, professional designs that you can use on social media and in marketing materials. It’s solved a lot of problems for us and our clients, and we highly recommend it!
