When you have a lot of different tasks and responsibilities on your plate, it can be hard to manage them all in the time frame you’re given. There’s no shame in the struggle — we get it!
Our Marketing Manager, Alana Harmond, likes using timers to help manage her tasks — which may seem basic, but it’s easy to forget that there are lots of methods we can use when we’re struggling. Alana also suggests that the cuter the timer, the better (she feels more inclined to use it often since she likes the way it looks).
If you’re not in a setting where it’s acceptable to use a timer (i.e. if you’re working in an office with other people or a busy coffee shop), there are other ways to incorporate the timer into your workday. The Pomodoro method breaks it down into increments: work for 25 minutes, take a five minute break and repeat. There are also apps that provide a visual countdown if that’s helpful for you (Alana uses the Flow app).
