Carrie has been a copywriter for around 15 years, so she has lots of experience with web copy, and she’s been experimenting with AI to learn more about its capabilities. If we’re asking if AI can write your website copy, it can — but it’s better to use it for help, not let it totally write your copy.
Essentially, AI is trying to talk to humans and Google at the same time, which is a tricky task. Generally, AI is good at generating ideas. If you’re trying to come up with headlines or text for a call to action button, AI may give you a few ideas that are okay — which, if anything, is a good starting point.
If you’re using AI for writing longer form text, it’s best to have a human fact check and edit the results. AI is a good tool for brainstorming and drafting, but it doesn’t replace the human ability to research.
