Work hard, play hard: We do both at Infomedia

Our monthly outside-of-work events make us a stronger team and make our work better.

Friends at a table with food and drinks

Not everyone can say they love where they work, but I think most people here at Infomedia can. Our work environment is a special one, and after having worked for different companies, it’s one I don’t take for granted.

Our leaders, Jason and John Lovoy, make it a point to plan fun outings that we can do as a group. Once a month, we get together for anything from baseball to bowling to cookouts. It gives us a chance to get to know one another outside the four walls of our office, and we also get to know each other’s families. We couldn’t be a more diverse group, yet we have the best time together. These events make us a stronger team and make our work better. At the office, we may argue and disagree on how a design should look or how a site should function; we’re constantly challenging each other. But at the end of the day, we put aside all that and have fun. We work hard, but we also play hard. Here are some of our favorite moments from the last few months:

Cheering on the Birmingham Barons at the new Regions Park

IMG_3701I don’t know what was happening at that point in the game, but Katey was certainly surprised. Or maybe she was just really excited that they were throwing free t-shirts out to the crowd. BK is thinking, “I could totally rock one of those T-shirts.”

Bowling: Right up our alley

Infomedia employees going bowling togetherBowling was fun, but very competitive. Let’s just say there are some of us who are WAY better bowlers than others … and we’re standing in the front. All we need now are matching Infomedia bowling shirts.

Kicking off football season with an office tailgate

Our next event is the employee Halloween costume contest. Winner gets a cash prize and a trophy, and things are already getting crazy with people planning their costumes. (I’ve heard rumors of reptiles and rodents.) Stay tuned for pics!
