Need Better Site Traffic? Ways an Email Campaign Can Help

If you’re looking for better site traffic, there are a few things you can do — blogging, increasing site speed and compelling content. But, one of the most cost-effective ways to increase website traffic is with an email campaign! Keep reading to learn how to get the most out of your efforts.

Build a Strong Subscriber List

Before investing a lot of time into creating the perfect email campaign, you need to look at building up your subscriber list. There are a couple of ways to do this. You can use a lead generator to attract people to join, and you can also promote your email list through your website, social media and blog.

You want to build a strong subscriber list that will actually lead to better site traffic. Get started by adding a signup form to your website, sharing it on your social media channels and adding it to your email signature.

Segment Your Lists

Now that you have a list of qualified leads, it’s time to divide them up based on industry/interests/etc. This will help you get relevant information in front of the people most likely to click on a link to your website.

An easy way to do this is by adding a question to your signup form asking what they are most interested in hearing about. Just be careful that you don’t make the signup form too long — you’re likely to lose some subscribers that way.

Link to Relevant Landing Pages

Your email call-to-action (CTA) is your best way to drive traffic to your website. Having a strong CTA is only half the battle though. When you successfully get subscribers to click off to your website, they should go to a landing page that is relevant to the topic of the email.

Pro tip: There’s no worse feeling than hitting send on an email before realizing your link is broken or goes to the wrong page. Double (or triple) check all links before sending any emails!

Monitor Your Metrics to See What’s Working

Now that you’ve triple-checked those links and sent your first emails, it’s time to start keeping an eye on those email campaign metrics. Click-through rates are a good metric to watch if you’re wanting to get better site traffic. If you’re not seeing the results you’re looking for, work on improving your content, design and CTAs.

Boost Results with Social Media

Last but not least, boost your email campaign results by combining them with your social media marketing efforts. Add links to your social media channels on your emails and share your emails to social media. Most email marketing platforms even have a tool to automate the process. (Sometimes, the answer really is to work smarter, not harder.)
