Behind the Lens: A Look at Infomedia’s Photography Process

So, you've decided to invest in media for your business — whether it's professional headshots, attractive product photography or anything in between. Now what?

Here at Infomedia, we understand that navigating the world of media production can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’re here to guide you through every step of the process, starting from that initial call all the way to the final delivery of your show-stopping visuals.

You Bought Media — Now What?

First of all, congratulations on taking the first step toward enhancing your website’s visual presence! Purchasing media is a significant (and wise) investment that can continue serving your business for years to come.

Your media project involves a lot of preparation that begins before the cameras ever start rolling. The first step Infomedia’s Media Department takes is to schedule a call. We’ll talk about your vision, goals and preferences to ensure that we’re all on the same page moving forward.

Our team will take the time to understand your brand identity, target audience and the specific message you want to convey through your photography shoot. By getting to know you and your business on a deeper level, we can tailor our media packages to meet your unique needs.

What’s a Pre-Pro, Anyway?

Next up, we’ll send over an invite for the pre-production meeting, or as we like to call it — a pre-pro. This is where we’ll dive into the specifics and lay the foundation for a successful photoshoot.

During the pre-pro meeting, we’ll discuss all the nitty gritty details. Where’s the shoot taking place? What should you wear? Who will (and won’t) be on camera? Are we shooting video, too? Are we doing people-focused or process-focused photography? We’ll gather all of these details, and more, to make sure you get everything you need out of your photoshoot. Our goal during this meeting is to make sure we’re all working toward the same goal.

Picture-Perfect Planning

Ever heard the phrase “failing to plan is planning to fail”? It’s true, especially with media production. That’s why we take the time to create a detailed shot list for each project. We use your website’s sitemap as a guide to identify the key shots needed to effectively tell your story and showcase your brand.

But our attention to detail doesn’t stop there. We also consider your website’s design elements to ensure that every shot aligns seamlessly with your brand’s online presence. When we create your shot list, we don’t just think about the images themselves — we think about how they’ll fit into the bigger picture of your website. For example, if your team page has a clean, white background, we’ll make sure that any headshot backdrop complements it. No one wants a headshot background that’s going to make them look like a disembodied head against a white background. (Or maybe you do, and we can make that work, too.)

Every image, from establishing shots to detailed close-ups, serves a purpose in conveying your message to your audience. By carefully planning each shot in advance, we ensure that nothing is overlooked and that every aspect of your brand is captured in its best light.

Setting the Stage

Our calendar tends to fill up fast, so it’s important to get on the schedule as soon as possible to secure your preferred date. Once everything is confirmed, it’s time to get excited — your photoshoot is officially on the books!

Our Producer & Studio Manager will work closely with you to finalize all the details, from scheduling talent to arranging for any necessary permits or permissions. (Did we mention that drone footage is included with all our media packages? That means a certified drone pilot will catch all the aerial shots without you having to worry about batteries, permits or no-fly zones.) Our goal is to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible, so you can enjoy the spotlight.

Lights, Camera, Action

The big day has arrived! As you prepare to step into the spotlight, our media team is hard at work behind the scenes, ensuring that everything runs like a charm. From setting up equipment to coordinating with talent, they’re the MVPs of the photoshoot, making sure that every little detail is taken care of.

On the day of the shoot, our team will arrive early to set up equipment and prepare the location for shooting. We’ll work closely with you to make sure everything is just the way you like it and that we’ve taken care of everything.

Throughout the day, we’ll be hard at work capturing all the important shots we discussed for the shotlist, making adjustments as needed to ensure that every image meets our high standards of quality. From directing talent to adjusting lighting, our team will do everything they can to ensure that we capture the essence of your brand in every frame.

The Final Touch

At the end of the day, our work is far from over. We review, select and edit the best shots from the day. Our goal? To exceed your expectations and deliver results that elevate your brand to new heights.

What Sets Infomedia Apart?

At Infomedia, we shoot with your entire project in mind. We aren’t just there to snap some photos — we’re there to back up your online presence in a way that is specific to your brand and culture. Here’s what makes us stand out from the crowd:

Expertise in Transforming Spaces: Has your warehouse seen better days? Full of boxes and equipment everywhere? We get it — it is a warehouse, after all. Our team has a talent for making even the most “ugly” spaces look cool and inviting. By using creative angles and strategic lighting, we’ll ensure your space shines in every frame.

Attention to Detail: Small details can make a huge difference. That’s why we go the extra mile to ensure every shot is picture-perfect. From adjusting angles to framing shots just right, we’re meticulous in our approach to capturing the essence of your brand. Even if a space is messy or cluttered, we know how to work around it, utilizing tight shots to highlight the best features and avoid distractions.

Authenticity in Action: We believe in capturing real moments that resonate with your audience. Our approach is more like investigative journalism than staged photoshoots. We aim to capture employees in their element, showcasing the authentic essence of your brand. Whether it’s a candid shot of a team brainstorming or a behind-the-scenes look at your production process, we’re dedicated to bringing your brand story to life in a way that feels genuine and relatable.

Putting Your Best Face Forward: Your confidence is key, and our team is here to ensure you shine. From the moment you step onto the set, we prioritize your comfort and ease. Feeling nervous about your headshot? Just let us know your favorite song — you know, the one that makes you feel like a rockstar. We’ll have it playing to set the perfect mood.
