Facebook Is Changing Your Business Page’s Appearance: Here’s What to Update

Time is running out for these elements of your Facebook page.

At the beginning of next month, Facebook will be removing several content sections from business profiles. In what is most likely an effort to streamline pages’ appearances, the social media platform will be deleting areas that are probably not often read by page visitors.

The following sections will be removed from Facebook on August 1:

  • Company Overview
  • Biography
  • Mission
  • Affiliation
  • Personal Interests

If any of these sections include information that’s essential to your business, then now is the time to move that content over to another area. Company Overview, Biography and Mission may contain important info, so consider transferring the content within those sections to your About or Story areas. If you’ve included more detailed aspects of your business in these sections, consider adding them to your Services area.

These changes to sections will roll out on August 1, so use this time to get your business page updated to your desired look and content. While you’re at it, this may be the perfect opportunity to reanalyze your company’s Facebook game plan overall. Look into implementing new strategies such as using Facebook Stories, scheduling posts ahead of time and leveraging reviews from satisfied clients.
