The city of Pelham is about to get a little more style when our client, Summer Classics, renovates their new building.

The city of Pelham is about to get a little more style: Summer Classics, Inc., has finalized the purchase of the former Moore-Handley building on Pelham Parkway, according to this Birmingham Business Journal article. We at Infomedia have had the pleasure of working with Summer Classics for years — they’re one of our longstanding clients, and we couldn’t be happier for the growth and success of this excellent, family-owned company.
This is a huge move for the high-end furniture maker. The 439,000 square foot site is home to one of the largest buildings in the Birmingham metro area. With support from the city of Pelham and the Shelby County Economic Development Authority, Summer Classics plans to make major improvements to the site, including showroom construction and renovations to the building and grounds.
“We have big plans to beautify the grounds and make the property exude the high-end appeal of the Summer Classics brand,” said Bew White, the company’s owner. With all of their beautiful things, I can’t wait to take a tour of that showroom.
To learn more about Summer Classics and their different divisions, check out their sites. But be warned: Prepare to swoon at all of the beautiful things. You might just get the urge, as I did, to sell everything you own and redecorate your home. (We have to brag a little, too — Infomedia created all these sites for Summer Classics, so you’ll be checking out our work as well.)
- Summer Classics, a wholesale outdoor furniture company with over 300 retailers
- Gabby, a company that wholesales unique transitional furniture and décor to the design and retail trade
- Parker James, a private label outdoor furniture company for large retailers
- Summer Classics Contract, a company catering to the hospitality and contract industry
- Summer Classics Home, a chain of 10 outdoor furniture stores across the U.S.
Summer Classics plans to move 168 employees to the new location and expects to begin hiring and increase employment soon. With the way their business is doing, they’ll need those additional employees. The company said it’s experiencing sales growth of over 50% for this month as compared to last year, and over 20% annually in comparison to 2012. We’re proud of the part our sites have played in the Summer Classics story, and we’re so happy for their success.
