3 Ways to Get Great Customer Reviews

Improve your online appearance with honest customer reviews.

Whether it’s your Google page, Better Business Bureau profile or social media platforms, reviews of your business are spread across the internet. While it would be great for all customers to go out of their way and give your business a review, it’s usually the two extremes of very satisfied or unsatisfied clients that seek you out online to state their opinions. By encouraging customers to give you an honest review online, you can better balance out your rankings.

You should never bribe or force customers to review your business, that’s both bad for your reputation and Google penalizes companies that do this, but instead gently encourage them to give you a quick rating online. Read on to learn our three favorite ways to gain great customer reviews:

Market More

Sending out a quick email or posting on social media to ask for reviews is an easy way to request them from your customers. For social media, this works particularly well with Facebook, which has a “Reviews” tab on each business profile. If you’ve got ecommerce on your website, consider setting up an automated email that sends one week after delivery asking for customer reviews on the product and service.

Take the Print Path

While it seems ironic to use printed pieces to promote online reviews, having material that you can hand out makes a big difference. Create small cards asking for reviews that can be given to clients after a project ends, placed next to the cash register or added to shopping bags.

Rely on Regulars

If your business has regular patrons, don’t hesitate to nicely ask for a review from them. Honest reviews from loyal customers can bolster your online ratings, along with letting you know what exactly attracted these people in the first place.
